polished or red or blue alloy valve covers for austin a30 morris minor mini moke sprite
ALLOY VALVE COVERS FOR ALL A-SERIES MOTORS. Alloy covers are rigid and don't leah like pressed steel.
Great flat-top design valve covers... in enamaled red colour and enamaled blue colour as well... for another $15
Comes with a chrome cap... The cork gasket and two rubber seals available too for bugger all... .
These will fit all A-series motors, but if you have hi-lift race-rockers, SOME of them will not fit... some.....
I can get ones that fit all known hi-lift but they cost more. Spare caps available at cost $10. grab a spare now
top vent ... It has been pointed out there is no top breather, so I now discuss this.
First, before we start this academic discussion, let me say that at any time if you are deadly opposed, or it?s too pongy, then simply tap a hole ANYWHERE in the side/top, put in a brass threaded air-hose tail BARB in ($3) and then connect up whatever you want.. Easy as!! Barbs of just about every shape or form from www.powerflowperformance.com.au they also know about cheap "under 20mm postage"... lots of companies don't.
Having fiddled with these top ?vents? at various stages between 1950 and 1980, it is my opinion that these breathers or "ventilation" openings in the top do virtually bugger all and are just a pathetic token effort at recycling noxious gases. The lower one simply allows AIR pressure differences as the pistons move about to come and go. There should be minimal vapours if your car is running correctly.
Starting at the 1950 end, the lower breather allows ventilation and pressure differentials with a small hole in the cap (which this cap has) allowing a "bit of a flow". If your car is running correctly there should be almost no vapours here anyway.
This top hose into the air filter has virtually no vacuum at all and basically does nothing. I know this is almost nil as even when I run this straight into a PAPER air filter on the carby it still takes MONTHS to foul at the entry point.
In later cars the PCV system tried to get a real flow going thru... so I guess if you want to re-create that, then simply tap a hole in as I said above and use a hose-tail-end.
The Mini supplier has little to say on the subject?
